John Shi is a partner and founding member of SAIC Capital. He is a visionary investor with unique insights. His primary investment focus areas include the entire battery industry chain, energy storage, autonomous driving, and semiconductor technology. 

John has a profound understanding of the new energy and automotive industries and possesses a rich network of contacts and resources. He has led SAIC Capital’s investment strategy in the United States in the field of battery technology and played a pivotal role in investing in various startup companies. Some of the companies he has invested in include Grubmarket, Googe, Ionic Mineral Technologies, Advano, and Sidus Energy.  

Beyond investments, John actively provides guidance to startups, assists in formulating strategic plans, and serves as a bridge between these companies and battery/automotive OEMs. Many of the companies he has invested in have achieved outstanding financial performance, including Grubmarket and Huangshan Googe, both of them are preparing for listings on the stock exchanges in the United States and China. 

Over the past 26 years, John has accumulated extensive international business experience during his career in the United States and China. He has worked as a consultant, offering comprehensive supply chain solutions to large enterprises, including Huawei, and assisting multiple companies in achieving rapid growth, resulting in billions annual revenue. 

John holds a master’s degree in economics from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree in business from University of International Business and Economics.
